RICHARD TYSON ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.
The death of Richard Tyson Roberts, 74, of Washington Street, Granville, occurred Monday morning at his home at 4 o'clock following months of failing health, being taken ill April 27th.Mr. Roberts wes born in North Wales, November 28th, 1862, coming to the United States fifty-seven years ago. He had been a resident of Granville for the past fifty years. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jones, who survives him with a brother, George Tyson Roberts of Bangor, Maine.
Mr. Roberts was of a retiring nature. He was a kind and loving husband, where his absence in the home will be deeply felt by the wife. A host of friends mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the home, Rev. John D. Owen of Fair Haven officiating.
The bearers were Hugh R. Parry, Robert D. Morris, Hugh Griffith, Griffith Davis, Evan Humphrey and William G. Roberts. Burial was in Mettowee Cemetery.
Relatives from out of town attending included his brother, George D. Roberts and wife of Bangor, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Beatrice Griffith of New York, William and Ellen Rowlands and Mrs. Humphrey Parry of Poultney.
