DAVID P. WILLIAMS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

David P. Williams, aged 67, died suddenly at 6:20 o'clock last night while sitting in a chair on the porch of his home at 22 Madison Street in Granville. He had been working in the quarry east of the Caiazza farm house on the Pawlet road all day yesterday, and had seemed in his usual health. For some time he had worked for Evan Morris and Joseph Williams in their quarry, but recently went to work for his sons. He was an excellent rock man and his services were always in demand when the quarries were operating.

He was born in Blaenau Festiniog, North Wales, the son of David and Anne Williams. He came to the United States when 16 years of age and first settled in Rome, then Utica and finally came to Granville, 44 years ago.

He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Williams 45 years ago. She died in 1935.

The surviving children are Owen P., Hugh P., Richard P., Morris P., John P., Pierce P. and Samuel Williams of Granville; David G. of New York City, Thomas of Trenton, New Jersey, William of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Mary C. Lenta of New York City, Mrs. Joseph Loesch, Mrs. Fred Farrar and Mrs. Gladys Jones of Granville. Two brothers survive : William P. Williams of Rome and Morris P. Williams of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Twenty one grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

David Williams was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church of this village. He was industrious and an excellent workman at anything he attempted in quarrying, especially as a rock man in the pit.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, Rev. Ellis Lloyd of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mettowee Valley cemetery at Granville.
