SAMUEL PROUT ROBERTS. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

The death of Samuel Roberts of Albany, occurred suddenly at his home Sunday evening. The body was brought to the funeral parlor of Howell Roberts in Poultney.

Mr. Roberts was born in Blaenau Festiniog, North Wales, December 25th, 1867, coming to the United States when a boy. Previous to his going to Albany to reside he had been a resident of Poultney and Fair Haven for many years.

The survivors are the widow and four sons, Gordon Roberts of Hampton, Bill Roberts of Schenectady and Russell and Owen Roberts of Albany; one daughter Mrs. Joseph Williams of Granville and seven grandchildren including Miss Jacklyn Roberts, daughter of David Roberts, a son of the deceased whose death occurred eight years ago. A brother also survives, William T. Roberts and a nephew, David T. Roberts, of Boston.

The funeral services were held Wednesday at Poultney, Rev. John Owens of Fair Haven officiating. The bearers were H. Pritchard, Elwin Roberts, Thomas Williams, William Griffith and Ray Jones, Poultney and Joseph Morris, Granville. During the services the Welsh Quartet of Poultney rendered a Welsh selection and Evan Williams sang 'Surprise'. The burial was in Fair Haven cemetery.

Mr. Roberts a former resident of the town of Poultney, has many friends who mourn his passing. He will be greatly missed in the home circle.
