JOHN D. LLOYD. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

John D. Lloyd, 74, a former resident of Granville died in Cambridge, Massechusetts, Thursday afternoon, March 20th, and his body was brought to Granville for burial in the Mettowee Valley Cemetery, Sunday afternoon, near the body of his son Llewellyn Lloyd, a World War veteran.

The deceased was born in Penrhyndeudraeth, North Wales, August 25th, 1867. At the age of 17 years he came to Brownsville, Maine, in 1884, and in July 1899 he obtained work in the Granville quarries as a slate maker. In 1918 he moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he died.

The deceased married Nellie Williams of Brownsville, Maine, in 1891. Children born to them were : Edith Simpkins, who died December 2nd, 1917; Llewellyn Lloyd, died August 20th, 1932 and Myrddin who died August 20th, 1931.

The survivors are his wife and two grandchildren : Mrs. Pearl Martin and LeRoy Simpkins of Glens Falls; one sister, Mrs. Evan Davies of North Wales and several nephews and nieces in Maine and Massachusetts.
