MRS. ELIZABETH JONES. WALNUTPORT, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.
Mrs. Elizabeth Jones, widow of John R. Jones and practically all of her life a resident of Walnutport, Slatington section, died at 1 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ribble, 127 Cherry Street, Walnutport. She was 82 years old.In failing health for some time, Mrs Jones was in bed for the past three months.
Born in Bethesda in North Wales, she came to this country when she was seven years old. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Jennett nee Davies, Jones. She was a member of the Salem Welsh Presbyterian church in Slatington.
Surviving her are these children : Mts. Louise Griffith, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Alice Parry, Walnutport; Mrs. Nellie Patterson, Hazleton; Mrs. Erma Gallion, Keyser, Virginia; Mrs. Jeanette Ribble, Walnutport; John R. Jones, Allentown; and Herbert S. Jones, Richmond, Virginia. Twenty three grandchildren, and a brother, Rev. R. R. Jones of Landisburg, Pennsylvania, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2p.m. at the Clarence T. Hartwig funeral home, 1002 Main Street, Slatington. Internment will be in Fairview cemetery, Slatington. Rev. Lewis Jones will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9p.m.
