OWEN ROGER OWENS. WEST PAWLET, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
The death of Owen Roger Owens occurred at his home in West Pawlet following a long illness Friday, Fenruary 20th, at the age of 61. He was born November 2nd, 1880, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Owens at Blaenau Festiniog, North Wales.Mr. Owens came to America when a young man. He married Lena Jones, April 15th, 1911, at West Pawlet, where they made their home. He was a slate maker by occupation. He was a member of the United Church, Odd Fellows lodge and Rebekah lodge, also Maccabees of Granville.
The survivors are are the wife and one son, Owen T. Owens of Utica; also two grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. David Williams, Mrs. Hugh Hughes and Dora Williams of Wales.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the United Church, Rev. Franklin Ellis officiating. The burial was in the Middle Granville cemetery. The bearers were Ralph Beecher, David Hughes, Isaac Lewis and John Parry Owens, West Pawlet; Robert Thomas and Kenneth Morris, Poultney.
