MR. ROBERT ELLIS ROBERTS, ALLENTOWN, LEHIGH COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

Robert E. Roberts of 303 S. Bradford St., for many years a resident of Slatington, died shortly after 3.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Allentown hospital where he had been a patient since January 30th. He was 67 years old.

Born in Wales, March 3rd, 1874, the son of Howell J. and Jane, nee Edwards. Roberts, he came to this country 60 years ago and lived in Slatington. Twenty years ago he came to Allentown. Until he retired 15 years ago, he was a slate worker.

Mr. Roberts was also widely known as a singer and was soloist for the Welsh Male chorus of Slatington. He was a member of the First Congregational church of Slatington.

He was married twice. His first wife, Catherine A. Davies, died in 1917 and his second wife, Jennie M. Nicholas, died in 1934.

Surviving are three sons, Griffith, with whom he resided in Allentown; Robert of Marlborough, New Jersey, a patient in the John Hopkins University hospital, Baltimore; and Howell, Detroit; four grandchildren; one brother, Howell J. Roberts, Easton, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Davis, Allentown.

Funeral services will be held at the Trexler funeral home 116 S. 8th Street, Monday at 1.30pm. Internment will be in the Fairview cemetery, Slatington.
