WILLIAM L. ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The death of William L. Roberts, Slocum Avenue, Granville, occurred Monday morning at 6 o'clock. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Roberts was a native of Wales, born in Corris in 1856. He married to Gwen Pugh in 1880 and shortly afterwards came to the United States, settling in Middle Granville.

Five children were born to them, Mrs. William R. (Laura) Owens, who died about two years ago, Mrs. W. H. Gladstone of Chicago, Hugh Roberts of Boston, Idris Roberts of Wellesley, Massachusetts and Gronow Roberts, who died seven years ago.

The survivors are his wife and two sons and daughter mentioned, six grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the McHenry and Roberts funeral home, Rev. Ellis Lloyd, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Granville will officiate. The following are bearers : G. J. Griffith, Hugh M. Evans, K. Williams, Harry Hughes, Arch Woodard and William Roberts. The internment was in Mettowee Valley cemetery.

Mr. Roberts was a familiar figure on the streets of Granville. He acted as special delivery boy carrier for a time and made many friends with his cheery word and pleasant smile. He possessed a humerous nature, always ready with a witty remark. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed in the home as well as in the community.
