JANE GLYN WILLIAMS. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
The death of Mrs. Jane Jones, 52, wife of Evan M. Jones, occirred Friday at her home after a long illness. She was born in Wales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs William G. Williams and came to the United States 32 years ago.Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Lieutenant Glynn Jones, a chaplain in the Marines; a daughter, Miss Katherine Jones, well known singer, who resided at home, and has been a devoted and constant companion of her mother, untiring in her love and care during trhe long illness. She is also survived by five brothers, Mathew of Rome, New York, Richard G., Hugh G., and Glynn Williams of Poultney, and a sister, Mrs. Gwen Morris of Rome.
The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church where Mrs. Jones was a contralto solo for many years until poor health kept her away from her past where she notably helped with her beautiful voice. Rev. Paul Shepard, pastor of the Baptist church assisted by Rev. W. D. Owen of Fair Haven, officiated. Music was furnished by the Men's Welsh Choir of Poultney, assisted by Ernest Morris of Granville.
The bearers were George Norton, Elmer Lee, Hugh Hughes, Angelo LaPlare of Poultney, Harry K. Williams and harry J. Williams of Granville.
