HUGH R. THOMAS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

Hugh R. Thomas, 65, passed away Sunday, October 10th. He had been in ill health for many months. He was born in Talysarn, North Wales, December 26th, 1878. He was married 33 years ago in New York City to Louise Jones, who survives him.

Mr. Thomas was an active member and elder of the Peniel Presbyterian Church in Granville. He was a resident of Granville for many years and was a slatemaker by trade although he was unemployed for the last several years.

Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, William R. Thomas of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian church with the Rev. R. Lewis Jones officiating. Internment was in the Mettowee cemetery at Granville.

Bearers were John M. Davies, David Pritchard, Griffith Parry, Harry K. Williams, Thomas Evans and Owen W. Roberts.

Friends and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral services were : Mr. and Mrs Hugh Williams, Louise Williams, Lillian Roberts, Edward LeFrance of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, William Thomas, Boston; Griffith John Griffith and son, Evan John Griffith of Syracuse; Mrs. John R. Jones of Utica; Mrs. Harold Herold, Troy.
