LEBO FARMER INJURED.

Lebo July 9th - Evan Ellis, farmer living south of here is in the St. Mary's hospital, Emporia, with a dislocated shoulder and severe lacerations about the face as a result of a collision of his motorcar with the Santa Fe motor at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. Tghe accident occurred at the Challand crossing two miles west of Lebo.

Mr. Ellis' car, a Chevrolet sedan, was found almost demolished between the tracks. Mr. Ellis was found hanging out of the car with his head and shoulders on the ballast. He was taken to St. Mary's hospital by Paul Murdock, of Emporia, in a New Process Laundry truck, where his injuries were treated.

Later Mrs. Ellis and daughters, Ruth and Mrs. Ethel Smith were brought to Emporia by Miss Verna Longhofer, to be with Mr. Ellis. The Ellis family had returned home from Lebo shortly before the accident happened. Mr. Ellis was on his way to his pasture at the time of the collision. It is believed the sun obscured his vision and that he did not see the approaching motor.

MR. EVAN ELLIS, LEBO, KANSAS.

Lebo November 24 - Evan Ellis of two miles southwest of Lebo died at his home Thursday, following a stroke suffered Tuesday.

Funeral services will be at the Lebo Methodist church Saturday at 2.30 o'clock, conducted by Dr. R. A. Hunt, of the First Methodist church od Selina.

Burial will be in Lebo cemetery.

Evan Ellis was born in 1871 in North Wales. He has lived in the vicinity of Lebo since he was 12 years old. He married Nellie B. Allen in 1904 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife and children, Mrs. A. D. McGregor, of Newton; Charles Ellis of LeRoy; Robert Ellis and Evan L. Ellis, of the home; Mrs. Everett Wilson of Saffordville.
