MRS. LAURA HUGHES. CLARK SUMMIT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

Mrs. Laura Hughes, 88, grandmother of County Commissioner Robert Lloyd and Assistant District Ayyorney Donals Mills, died Monday in a nursing home at Clark Summit.

The deceased woman was born in Wales on December 22nd, 1856.

She came to this country in May, 1883, settling in Slatington. After living there for six years, she moved to Ashley, where she resided until 1896. Mrs. Hughes then moved to North Scranton, where she lived until four years ago when she was stricken ill.

Mrs. Hughes was the mother of 11 children, 7 of whom now survive her. They are : Mrs. Elizabeth Lloyd of Ashley; Mrs. George Andrews of Dalton; Mrs. Walter S. Mills of Wilkes-Barre; Miss Mary Hughes of Scranton; Mrs. Arthur Hess , 427 Madison Avenue, Scranton, on Friday afternoon at 4. of Harrisburg; and two sons, Griffith Williams and Emrys Williams. Also surviving are 14 granchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Three of the grandsons and one great grandson are now serving in the armed forces.

The funeral will be held from a funeral home, 427 Madison Avenue, Scranton, on Friday afternoon at 4. Burial will be in Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla.
