MARY ELLEN EVANS CHARLES. HOLLAND PATENT, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.

Mrs. Mary E. Charles, 80, widow of Robert E. Charles died Mar. 21st, 1947, at her home at Floyd Corners, following a brief illness. Mrs. Charles was born in Wales, June 26th, 1866, daughter of Thomas and Mary Ellis Evans, and came to this country with her parents in 1873, locating in Holland Patent. She was married to Robert E. Charles, July 29th, 1889, in Utica and had resided in the Town of Floyd for the past 52 years. She attended the Welsh Congregational in Holland Patent. Mrs. Charles is survived by two sons, Lynn and Charles, both of Floyd; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Gainsway, Remsen and Mrs. James Vanderhoof of Corning, Iowa; a brother, Thomas Evans, Utica; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Burial will be in Holland Patent Cemetery.
