OWEN D. ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.
The death of Owen Davies Roberts of 12 Morrison avenue, Granville occurred Monday morning at his home. He had been ill for the past eight weeks, but it was thought that he was recovering.Mr. Roberts was born in Bethesda, Wales in 1878, the son of Sarah Thomas and David Davies Roberts. When very young he came with his parents to this country, settling first in West Pawlet, Vermont, and eventually in Granville.
Mr. Roberts had been engaged in the barber business in Granville for about 45 years. As a young man he became associated with David Williams, a barber and then he went into business for himself.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mair Pritchard; four daughters, Jane Roberts of Averill Park, New York, Mrs. Ernest Morris of Granville, Mrs. Alan Jones of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Mrs. Warren D. Coon of Hudsons Falls, one son, David O. Roberts of Albany, two sisters, Mrs Walter Weinz of Forestville, Connecticut, Mrs. Harry Duel of Granville; one brother Robert D. Roberts of New Haven, Connecticut, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon (today) at 2 p.m. from the Congregational church where he had served as atrustee for a number of years, the Rev. J. Duke King, officiating.

Funeral services for Owen D. Roberts were held Thursday afternoon. A short prayer service was held at the home followed by the service at the Congregational church of which he served as a trustee for many years, the Rev. J. Duke King, pastor officiating. Two solos were sung by Richard J. Roberts, Sr. 'My Task' and 'Someday We Will Understand.' He was accompanied by J. Wesley Hughes who served as organist.Bearers were Harry K. Williams, Mose Roberts, Kenneth Dul, William B. Edwards, Thomas J. Edwards and Llewellyn Jones.
Burial was at the Mettowee cemetery.
