THOMAS ROBERT EVANS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON CO. NEW YORK.
Thomas R. Evans, 78, died at his home, East Main Street, Friday morning, March 5th. He was born in Corris, North Wales, March, 24th, 1869.Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Jane Evans; a son, Thomas P. Evans of Maspeth, Long Island; a daughter, Mrs Ann Dingham of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Mrs W. M. Williams, Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Sarah Hughes, Utica; also nine granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. R. Lewis Jones of Ballston Spa officiating. William R. Thomas, accompanied by his wife, sang two solos, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and Mae Nghyfeillion Wedi Myned. The body was placed in the receiving vault at Mettowee cemetery. Bearers were P. J. Tierney, Iorwerth Jones, R. C. Owens, John Jones, William Jones and Harry K. Williams.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were, Thomas R. Evans, Maspeth, Long Island, Mrs. C. E. Dingman, Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dingman, Rochester, New York, McKinlay Hughes, Rome, New York, Mrs. Sara E. Hughes, Mrs. Jennie Edwards, Mrs. John Jones, Mrs. Patrick Fanning and Morris Hughes of Utica, New York, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hughes and Mr. and Mrs. David Hughes of West Pawlet, Vermont.
Out of town friends present were Mrs. Alice Marten, South Poultney, Mrs John B. Griffiths and John R. Roberts, West Pawlet.
