WILLIAM R. OWENS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

William R. Owens, 76, of 9 Potter avenue, died Monday in the Glens Falls hospital. Mr. Owens came to this country from Wales about 60 years ago.

He married Elizabeth Williams of Granvillr and on November 25th, 1946 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniverdary with a reception in the Presbyterian church, at which time Rev. R. Lewis Jones read the wedding service and Mrs. John Roberts of Schenectady and the late E. R. Evans were the attendants as they were 50 years ago.

Mr. Owens was a milk dealer in the village for some ten or fifteen years, and for the past fifteen years he has been associated with the Nora Lee Lingerie company on Church street.

Survivvors are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Owens; a son, Allan Owens od Schenectady; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Barnion, Glen Falls and Mrs. Anna M. Cronquist, Bronxville; a sister, Mrs. Isaac Hughes, Unadilla Forks.

Funeral services will be conducted today, Thursday, at 1.30 p.m. at the home, and at 2.00 p.m. in the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Maldwyn Davies officiating. Internment will be in the Mettowee cemetery.

The funeral of William R. Owens was held from the Granville Presbyterian church, December 23rd, with the Rev. Maldwyn Davies, assisted by Dr. R. Lewis Jones of Ballston Spa officiating. Burial was in the Mettowee Valley cemetery. The bearers were Donald Reynolds, Hugh Morgan Evans, William Jones, Roland Jones, Moses Roberts and Albert Roberts.

Mr. Owens was born in Bethesda, North Wales, son of the late Robert and Margaret Hughes Owens, and came to this country 57 years ago where he had always made his home in Granville. In November 1896 he was married to Elizabeth Williams and to them was born one son, Allen Owens of Schenectady, and two daughters, Mrs. Robert A Bannon of Glens Falls, and Mrs. S. Chester Cronquist, Bronxville, New York, all of whom are survivors, together with four grandchildren, David, Carol and Charles Bannon and Karen Cronquist.

Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Isaac Hughes of Unadilla Forks, New York, two half-brothers, Harry Owens od Schenctady and Hugh Owens of Brooklyn, New York, and one half-sister, Mrs. Henry Hanna of Newport, New York.

Mr. Owens had been a member of the Presbyterian church for nearly 57 years and was active in music for the past 40 years, always taking special interest in the Easter cantatas; he also took part in the Sunday school activities and at one time was superintendent of the school. At the time of his deathhe had been employed by the Nora Lee Lingerie Company for the past six years.
