JOHN FOSTER THOMAS. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
John Foster Thomas, 62, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning June 16th, at his home at 6 Morrison Avenue. He was born in Llanllyfni, North Wales.Mr. Thomas came to Poultney Vermont, in 1907 from Wales and later moved to Ilion, New York, in 1915. He was married to Mary E. Jones at Utica, New York. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas came to Granville in 1921 where he made his home until his sudden death. He was a member of Peniel Presbyterian church of this village.
He is survived by his wife Mary E. Jones; a step-son Iorwerth V. Jones; two brothers, Owen M. Thomas of Wilkesbarrs, Pennsylvania and Morgan L. Thomas of Wales; two cousins Mrs. John P. Griffiths of Rome, New York and Mrs. Robert Thomas of Poultney, Vermont.
The bearers were Emrys Lewis, William E. Roberts, Thomas S. Edwards, Hugh M. Evans, Harry K. Williams and William Myrddyn Owens.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2.30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. Maldwyn Davies of Shrewsbury, England, officiating.
The burial was in Woodlawn cemetery Poultney, Vermont.
