The death of Thomas J. Owens, 66, of Ilion, New York, occurred on Monday at Pine Crest Sanitorium, Salisbury Center, New York, where he had been confined for the past year.He was born in Bethesda, North Wales, February 16th, 1883, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Owens. He came to Canada at the age of six years. He has lived most of his life in Poultney, where he was a quarryman. His wife, the late Flavia Oakman Owens of Poultney, passed away a few years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Holt Andrews, of Albion, New York; a son, Robert M. Owens of Poultney; three sisters, Mrs. T. J. Williams of Ilion, Mrs. James Stone of Marcy, New York and Mrs. Raymond Winn of Sherburne; two brothers, Owen Owens of Boonville, New York and Mathew Owens of Ilion.
Funeral services were held at the Roberts Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Milton Lavery, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.

Services for Thomas J. Owens, who died March 14th, at Pinecrest Sanatorium in Salisbury Center, New York, were conducted by the Rev. Milton Lavery, Wednesday in the Roberts Funeral Home, Poultney.Bearers were Edward C. Dornell, R. Evans, William W. Hughes, Harry Owens, Robert R. Jones and David I. Hughes. Burial was in Poultney cemetery.
Among the out of town persons attending the funeral were, Mrs. Holt Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Williams, Norman Williams, Clifford Williams, Mathew Owen, Ilion, New York, Owen Owens of Hawkinsville, New York.
