OWEN C. ROBERTS, POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
The death of Owen C. Roberts, 82, occurred at his home in Poultney on Wednesday of last week, after a short illness. He was born, December 12th, 1868 in Blaenau Festiniog, Wales.Mr. and Mrs. Roberts celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1947.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; one daughter, Ruth, Mrs. John Owens of Poultney; a brother, Thomas G. Roberts of Fair Haven; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Williams of Fair Haven; also nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday at 3 p.m. at his home with the Rev. Maxwell Rohn officiating. The bearers were Arthur Hughes, Chester Mills, Russell Hughes and Griffith Williams of Fair Haven, Harold Eaten of Springfield, Massechusetts and Robert O. Jones of Poultney. Burial was in Poultney cemetery.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones of Arlington, Massechusetts, Mr. and Mrs. John Mathews of New York, Mrs. Kate Roberts of Albany and Mrs. Richard Jones of Troy.
