ROBERT O. JONES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

The death of Robert O. Jones, 71, resident of Poultney nearly half a century, occurred at his home on Northern Avenue, on Thursday.

Mr. Jones was born in Carnarvon, North Wales, and came to the United States in 1900, where for several years he was active in the slate industry. Mr. Jones had been associated with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company as representative of this company within the Poultney area for 20 years.

He was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church and had in years past been organist in the church for several years.

In addition to his wife, the former Miss Mary Jane Evans, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs Gaylord Fish, Mrs. Michael Zidovsky and Mrs, Ralph Bruso, all of Poultney; one son, Robert W. Jones of Rutland; two brothers, John of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and William of Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. Snow of Utica, and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Welsh Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Milton Avery officiating. Evan G. Williams sang two favourite hymns of the deceased. The bearers were Idris Jones, Robert R. Jones, Emrys Pritchard, Daniel Costello, George Hood, Levi Davies and Richars Hughes of Poultney.

Burial was in Poultney Cemetery.
