HUGH ROBERT HUGHES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

Hugh R. Hughes, 71, died Friday at his home in South Poultney after a long illness. He was born September 26th, 1882 in Wales, the son of Robert R. and Elizabeth Hughes, and had lived in South Poultney for several years.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Gwilym L. and D. Arvon of Poultney, John D. of South Poultney and Robert F. of South Glens Falls; five brothers, Michael R., Robert R., Edward R., and Mordecai R., all of Wales, and Thomas R. od South Poultney; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Davies of Wales and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday from his late home, Rev. John D. Owens of Fair Haven and rev. John McConaughty of Whitehall officiating.

Bearers were Edwin Jones and William O. Griffith of Granville, Harry Botdford, William J. Roberts of Poultney, Idris Ellis and Thomas Ruby of South Poultney.
