MR. ROBERT WILLIAM HUGHES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
Robert William Hughes, 71, died in his East Poultney home today after a lingering illness.He is survived by his second wife, the former Eva Ward; two daughters, Esther and Sylvia Hughes; and two brothers, David and James Hughes of Poultney; and five children by a former marriage, Miss Margaret Hughes and Robert Hughes of Poultney, Mrs. Mary Roberts and William J. Hughes of Glens Falls, New York, and Mrs. Graham Herwerth of Schenectady, New York; besides 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. His first wife was the former Miss Nellie Hughes.
Thr funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be in Castleton. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
