ELLEN (MORRIS) ROBERTS. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
The death of Mrs. Ellen Roberts, 89, of Poultney, widow of Robert W. Roberts, occurred December 20th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Campbell of 18 lincoln Avenue, Rutland after a short illness.Besides her daughter, she is survived by three sons; Howell R. of Poultney, Ivor of Bennington and Elwyn of Scotia; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
For many years Mrs. Roberts was a resident of South Poultney, before coming to Poultney to live, where she was loved and respected by everyone who knew her, which were many. For the past few years she made her home in Rutland, where she had been tenderly cared for by her daughter.
The funeral was held the following Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Roberts Funeral Home in Poultney. Rev. J. F. McConanghy officiated.
Bearers were Willard, Kenneth, Merlin, Emmett and Michael LaBate of Poultney and Griffith Morris of Whitehall. Burial was in Poultney Cemetery.
