GRANVILLE, NEW YORK. - Mrs. Emily (Evans) Roberts, 63, of Granville, New York, died Wednesday at a Cambridge hospital after a short illness.Born in Bethesda, North Wales, on November 27th, 1896, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of John J. and Hannah (Thomas) Evans. She came to this country 54 years ago.
Mrs. Roberts was the widow of Hugh J. Roberts, who died in 1927. She was a member of the local Baptist Church and Sylvan Star Chapter 122, OES, besides belonging to the Uthai Society.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Florence Jones of Detroit, Mrs Evelyn Evans of Granville and Mrs. Elinor Retallack of Scarsdale; three sisters, Mrs. Myfanwy Jones, Mrs. Olwen Roberts and Miss Charlotte Evans, all of Granville; two brothers, Edward Evans and Stephen Evans, both of Granville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Mc Henry and Roberts Funeral Home here will be conducted by the Rev. Lewster Vier, pastor of the Baptist Church. Entombment will be in the Mettowee Cemetery here with burial there later in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
