MARGARET HUMPHREYS KENT. REMSEN, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.
Mrs. Margaret Kent, 90, widow of Bion H. Kent, died Sunday night in a Turin nursing home after a long illness.Mr. and Mrs. Kent, married on April 27th, 1892, operated the Honondaga Lodge at Honondaga Lake, Adirondack League Club, until September 1902.
Mrs. Kent was born August 29th, 1870, in Carnarvon, Wales, and as a child came to America with her parents, William and Jane Read Humphreys. They settled in West Winfield.
Later the family moved to Remsen where Mrs. Kemt attended schools and was married to Mr. Kent. Mr Kent died in 1902. Since then Mrs. Kent has resided in Remsen, Boonville and Constableville.
She was a member of the Boonville Methodist Church and a life member of Mappa Chapter OES in Barneveld. For many years she was active in affairs of the Sunday School and in young people's work.
Mrs.Kent leaves a son, Bion H. Kent of Constableville; a grandson, Bion H. Kent III, Mexico City, three great grandchildren, a brother, John Humphrey, of Deerwood, Minnesota.
The funeral will be at 1:30 tomorrow from the home of her niece, Mrs. Carol Marcy, Boonville, with Rev. Alton A. Parker, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Fairchild Cemetery, Remsen.
Calling hours at Mrs. Marcy's home are this evening and tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9.
The OES members will conduct ritualistic services at 7:30 tonight.
