ROBERT HENRY WILLIAMS. PROSPECT, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.

Robert H. Williams, 74, of 912 Shaw Street, was found dead Saturday morning underneath the Barnes Avenue Bridge. Dr. T. W. Piekielniak, Oneida County coroner, said Williams apparently died Friday. Death was attributed to drowning, Dr. Piekielniak ruled death was by suicide.

He was born June 24th, 1886, in Cwn-Pennant, Caernarvonshire, North Wales, son of Robert and Ann Williams. He came to the United States in 1911 and worked on farms in the Utica area.

He was employed at the former Hotel Martin for several years and then at Marcy State Hospital for 26 years. He retired from the latter post five years ago and since then made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lloyd Jones, 912 Shaw Street.

Mr. Williams was a member of Moriah Presbyterian Church, Goronwy Lodge 37, Order of American True Ivorites, the New York State Civil Service Association and the 25 - Year Membership Club of Mercy State Hospital.

He married Nellie Hughes on October 1st, 1921. She died August 10th, 1924.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Owens and Mrs. Katherine Davies, both of North Wales; a sister-in-law, Miss Lizzie Hughes, Utica, and several nieces and nephews, in North Wales and Remsen.

The couple's only son, Robert T. Williams, was killed in action during World War II, in the Pacific.

Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect. Utica, Monday, March 20th, 1961.
