MR. EVAN VAUGHAN JONES, ROME, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.

Evan Vaughan Jones, 72, of 710 N. Madison St., died this morning in a local hospital where he had been a patient since December, 4th. Mr. Jones was born in Chwilog, North Wales, on November 14th, 1890, son of Evan and Mary Pritchard Jones.

He received his education in his native city and came to Rome in 1911. He had been employed by the Northern New York utilities and by the successor company, Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. as a mechanic since coming to Rome except for a few years when he was in partnership under the name of Flannigan and Jones.

In October, 1914, he married Ellen Jane Roberts in Rome with the Rev. Mr. Jones officiating. Mrs. Jones survives with two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Hayden (May V.) Lewis of Rome, Glynne V, Jones of McConnellsville, Mrs. Hubert (Eleanor C.) Watson of Chicago, Illinois, and Richard V. Jones of Bronxville, New York. There are seven grandchildren, Barbara, Linda and Joan Lewis of Rome, Roger and Cynthia Jones of McConnellsville, Ronald and Richard Watson of Chicago.

Mr. Jones was the last of a family of 13 children. He was of the Congregational faith and a member of the Utilities 25-Year Club.

Funeral services will be held at the Waldo Wiggins Price Home for Funerals on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Caradog P. Williams, pastor of Bethel Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in the Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the 'Home for Funerals' tonight and on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
