EDWARD JOHN EVANS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, NEW YORK.
GRANVILLE, NEW YORK. - Edward J. Evans, 75, died early Monday at the Mary McClennan Hospital in Cambridge, New York, after a short illness.He was born in Bethesda, North Wales, January 1st, 1891.
Mr Evans was a cashier for the Delaware and Hudson Railway in Grenville and retired in 1956, after 50 years service.
He is survived by a son, Howard Evans of Granville; a daughter, Mrs. Craig Weir of Essex Junction, Vermont; a brother, Stephen Evans of Granville; and three sisters, Mrs. William R. Williams, Mrs. Stanley Roberts and Miss Charlotte Evans of Granville; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McHenry and Roberts Funeral Homes in Granville by the Rev. Arthur Weisser of the Granville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mettowee Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
