EVAN THOMAS. HANOVER, LEHIGH, PENNSYLVANIA.
Mab John Evan Thomas (1870-1919) a Annie Jones (1868-1925)Evan Thomas, 65 of West Liberty Street, Hanover Township, died at 2.15p.m. yesterday, at his home following five months illness.
Born in Wales, May 18th, 1904, he came to Wilkes-Barre at an early age with his parents. He lived in Laurel Run most of his life and for the last few years at Hanover Township.
Mr. Thomas was employed by Hazard Wire Rope abd later American Chain and Cable Company as a machine operator, retiring in May.
He was an active member of Laurel Run Primitive Methodist Church and a former councilman and burgess of Laurel Run Borough.
Surviving are his widow, the former Elizabeth LeBar; sons John Campbell, California; Allan, Plains; Louis, Ashley; daughter Mrs. Karen Jones, Duryea; sister Jennie Thomas Wilkes- Barre and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 64 North Franklin Street, Wednesday at 11a.m. Rev. Evan Thomas, pastor of Laurel Run PM Church, will officiate. Internment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
