MR. WILLIAM DAVID OWEN, RUTLAND, RUTLAND, VERMONT.
POULTNEY. William D. Owen, 85, died Monday at the Rutland Hospital after a short illness.He was born in Wales on July 3rd, 1886, son of David W. and Janet (Davies) Owen. He was a slatemaker.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Williams; a son, Retired Navy Captain William D. Owen Jr. of Suitland, Maryland; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Owen Adams, of Santa Barbara California; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2pm at the McShane Funeral Home in Poultney by Professor Robert Marsh of Green Mountain College. Burial will be in the family lot in Poultney Cemetery later.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Poultney Rescue Squad.
