DAVID JONES. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.
David Jones, 84, of Granville, died Sunday (Nov. 15, 1981) in Emma Laing Stevens Hospital, West Granville, after a short illness.Mr. Jones was born October 12th, 1897, in Cesarea, North Wales, the son of Richard and Winifred Jones. He was a veteran of the Welsh Regiment of the British Army. He moved to South Poultney, Vermont in 1921 and to Granville in 1941.
Mr. Jones was a former member of the Poultney Welsh Male Chorus and the Granville Area Chorus. He was a past elder, trustee and choir member of the Peniel Presbyterian Church of Granville.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth (Parry) Jones; a daughter, Mrs. Robert O. (Elsie) Jones of Granville; a son, Benjamin D. Jones of Liverpool, New York, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy J. Owens of Glens Falls.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 18th, 1981, at the McHenry and Roberts Funeral Home by the Rev. John L. Robertson.
Internment was in Mettowee Valley Cemetery.
