MR. IDRIS P. JONES, POULTNEY, RUTLAND, VERMONT.

POULTNEY - Mr. Idris P. Jones Sr. 80, of 45 Furnace Street died early Monday morning at Rutland Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in Dinorwic, North Wales, July 11th, 1902, son of Richard and Catherine (Jones) Jones.

He retired in 1970 after many years of working in the slate industry.

He was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Welsh Male Choir.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Parry) Jones; two sons, Richard P Jones of Kissimmee, Florida, and Idris P. Jones Jr. of Poultney; a sister, Mrs. Emrys (Katie) Pritchard of Poultney; five grandchildren; two great grandsons; a nephew and several nieces and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3pm at the Roberts-Lantman Funeral Home here with Rev. George Greenough, pastor of the Poultney Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Poultney Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poultney Rescue Squad, in care of the funeral home.

Funeral services for Idris P. Jones Sr., 80, who died Monday at Rutland Hospital were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Roberts-Lantman Funeral Home at Poultney. The rev. George Greenough, pastor of the Poultney Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial followed in the Poultney Cemetery.

Bearers were Chris Jones, Frederick Hughes, Lyle Reynolds, Stanley Jones, all of Poultney, Preston Williams of Rutland and George Maynard of South Poultney.
